“Beach Bodies”

Beach Bodies is a project I wanted to do after creating an illustration with a similar distortion effect. I thought the premise would work well for a young adult romance, and set about trying to think of ways to make the composition effective. I went through several variations before landing on the sketch below (left) which I eventually refined to the sketch on the right.
